Today is weigh in day and I am holding at 168 pounds.
I did my KettleWorx kettlebells exercises on Monday and Tuesday. After lunch on Tuesday, I started having serious stomach pains. I do not know if I got a touch of food poisoning from lunch or I over-did-it with the kettlebelling. I was in such pain that I missed work on Wednesday. A heating pad was my best friend Tuesday through Thursday. Thursday and Friday my stomach was tender and I was having occasional stomach pains.
Today I have felt much better. I slept late, cleaned house, and washed clothes. I left the house around 2:00 p.m. and took myself to Ruthie's for a Mexican lunch. I ate Tortilla soup, and some chips and hot sauce. Then I went and got a fresh pedicure and manicure. I want my feet to look pretty on the surgery table on Wednesday. I do not like that it will be 6 weeks before I can Kettlebell and "Plank" after surgery. But I do like that the surgery will be behind me and I will be better because of it.
I am enjoying becoming a healthier me. I am enjoying losing weight. My clothes are looking better on my body. Being back in size 12 pants after many years feels great. I can actually see the possibility that I may get into a smaller size pants. Oh WOW!!

Oh, so sorry to hear you were feeling bad, but I am thankful that you are much better. I have you on my prayer list for your Surgery day and every day afterwards until you can begin your exercise regimen again.
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my surgery, several years ago, After about three and a half weeks I was feeling so good and full of energy. I wanted to start exercising and felt like I could lift groceries and vacuum, do laundry...BUT, my doctor sternly suggested to allow myself the FULL recovery time because It takes the incisions longer to heal and over straining could cause damage and a lot of problems down the road.
So my appearance on the outside and my physical strength seemed better than normal and I had to force myself to take it slowly. I would fold clothes but someone else did the laundry. I watched them sweep, mop, and vacuum. Of course, they don't do it like I do and I had to bite my tongue. I still walked every day and by the end of the 6 weeks I was up to over a mile a day.
Anyway, I put the date of the end of the 6 weeks on my calendar and started my exercises and put housecleaning back on the schedule.
You and I both have super family support systems! Take it slow!
